Justin Jones, PE
Co-Owner / Senior Civil Engineer
Justin is a civil engineer with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in civil engineering for development and redevelopment projects. His expertise in civil engineering and the land use process makes him an active participant in master planning, site entitlements, site civil design, roadway design, low impact stormwater design and project and construction administration.
In his free time, Justin enjoys experiencing well-designed communities, neighborhoods and buildings (including breweries!). He has designed and constructed many of the furnishings at JMJ TEAM, including our staff’s signature sit/stand orange desks.
Joleen (Peterson) Jones
Co-Owner / Senior Land Use Planner
Joleen is a land use planner and project facilitator with 15 years’ experience in the A/E industry. She has expertise in getting through the permitting process and planning documents makes her an asset to project teams from design through construction.
Outside of work, Joleen enjoys being with her family, hot yoga, skiing and the outdoors. She is involved in the community as Sumner Design Commission Chair and a Rotary Club of Sumner member.
Justin and Joleen have two kids, 13 and 11, and a retired racing corgi named Fletcher.
Preston Walker, EIT
Preston is a civil engineer with five years of experience on development and transportation projects, providing innovative low impact development approaches. He works with project teams from conceptual design through permitting and contractor coordination during construction.
In his free time, Preston enjoys running, snowboarding and golfing. He lives in Seattle where he cares for four houseplants and is continually adding to his record collection.
Ian Harkins, EIT
Ian is a civil engineer with three years of experience working on projects ranging from the Washington State Fair to office high-rises. Ian has a practical approach to problem solving and works collaboratively with all disciplines.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys concerts and the outdoors, particularly camping, hiking and skiing. Possibly his love for the outdoors comes from his experience in the Boy Scouts, where he earned the top designation of Eagle Scout.
Rick Hermes, PE
Senior Civil Engineer
Rick’s passion for civil engineering began in high school when he began highway design for the North Dakota Highway Department. Now Rick has more than 50 years of experience, specializing in water and wastewater systems, surface water, street and arterial improvements and environmental remediation.
In his free time, Rick enjoys biking, working on his chip carvings, and hanging out with his dog, Buster.
Meagan is the newest member of JMJ TEAM. She is completing her Drafting degree from Bates Technical College while getting hands-on experience. Meagan supports our engineers with drafting and plan production. Her attention to detail and team attitude make her an asset to the team.
In her free time, the former chef enjoys reading about food history as well as building Lego sets. Meagan and her fiancée, KC, have a grey/blue cat named Koda.
